4 months!

I can't believe that Owen is already 4 months old! I can't believe it's April! I have no idea what happened to March. Time is going by way to fast.

Owen had his 4 month check up on Monday and he is 15 lbs 12 oz (70th percentile) 26 in (85th) and 44 cm for his noggin (95th-ish). He chugged the vaccine he had to take orally like it was nothing and cried for for about 2 seconds after getting a shot in each leg.

Here's a couple videos. They were on my phone and I can't figure out how to rotate them. This one is from a couple weeks ago. He's quite talented.

And this one is from our second experience with rice cereal. He's squirmy. And likes to play with my phone. I was trying to get the spoon in his mouth and keep him from grabbing the phone so it's not the best video.

He loves to stand (his exersaucer thing is my new best friend)

He still eats likes a champ, even more so now that he's experienced the awesomeness that is rice cereal

He started rolling back to belly the first week in March and he finally started going from belly to back this past week

He usually wakes up once or twice during the night to eat and he'll fall right back asleep when he's done

He doesn't laugh as much as I though he would, he just kinda opens his mouth all wide when he gets excited

He makes some pretty interesting noises and has awesome facial expressions to match

I absolutely love being his mommy and I am so grateful that I am able to stay at home with him!

Owen loves making presents in new diapers. No matter how long I wait to change him, right when he gets a new one on he makes another present. We've been going through diapers like nobody's business. It's been great fun. Especially when I get him a fresh one and get him all cute for church and right when I'm about to buckle him in his car seat...yeah. Great fun.

He started wearing size 2 diapers this week. And most of his 0-3 month clothes don't fit him anymore. I can't believe how big he's getting!

Tome was playing some video games after church today and Owen was sitting in his lap and he was very intrigued with the tv.

I think he wanted to play too. He kept moving Tome's thumb.

He is definitely his father's son.

Yaayyy!!

A couple weeks ago I started doing this thing with Owen where I would hold his arms up by his head and say "Yaayyy" all happy like, and he would smile like none other and try to laugh, which sounds more like him not being able to breath. It's super cute. But now he holds his arms like that all the time. I love it.

He has a playtime mat with toys hanging down from it and he loves to lay under it. I don't think he hits the toys on purpose but it seems like he has fun.

He still loves baths and getting his diaper changed and that's usually when I can get him to smile the most. We're working on tummy time and now he can go almost a minute before he starts to scream. I sit him on my knee and hold him around his belly so he still gets some practice holding his head up, but it's pretty hard for him. I don't blame him...he's got a whole lot of head. He's also developed this wonderful habit of SCREAMING for at least 5 minutes before he falls asleep. It's been great fun.

2 blankets...one onesie...13 wipes...1 VERY full diaper...

...is what we had to throw away this morning.

We finally experienced Owen's first blow out.

When Owen woke up this morning I had Tome get him. I continued to sleep. A couple of minutes later I woke up to Tome walking through the door with a naked baby saying "I think he needs a bath."

I got up and followed Tome into the bathroom. Then I saw the damage. There was brown smears all, and I mean ALL, over the baby. And all over Tome.

The onesie he was wearing was one of my favorites but I didn't even want to try to save it.

I'm pretty sure Owen laughed at us. I still think he is the cutest thing ever though. I know I'm biased but just look at that cute little face...

I just wish I could have witnessed Tome attempting to change that diaper.

2 months!

I can't believe how fast the past two months have gone by. Owen has changed so much!

He went to his 2 month check-up today and weighed in at 13 lbs 5 oz and 24 inches long.

He is starting to smile a lot, especially when he gets his diaper changed. He loves taking baths and he's perfectly content just chillin on the floor as long as he can wiggle around.

Last week he started sleeping in his crib in his room and he usually does about a 5-6 hour stretch at night which has been really nice.

He LOVES to eat and absolutely HATES laying on his tummy.

He is definitely the cutest thing ever! I love being his mommy!

I haven't really gotten into this whole blogging thing...but now that Owen is here I thought it would be fun to share some of the cute things he does, especially for his grandmas. So whenever he does something really cute or if I get a cute picture of him, which happens on a daily basis, I'll try to share.

I love reading birth stories from other moms so I thought I would share a little bit of what I went through bringing Owen into this world...

not that great of a picture but its a good shot of my 37 week belly and my hot husband

Nov 22nd: got ultrasound. baby is measuring 8 lbs. still have 3 weeks to go. i freak out a bit. holy big baby. already 2.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced.

Nov 25th: thanksgiving. thought i was in labor. went to the hospital. 3 cm dilated. 80% effaced. contractions arent strong enough. they send me home.

Nov 26th-Dec 3rd: still having contractions. it was great fun. went to the dr 3 times for her to try to get things going. get ultrasound, baby measuring at 9 lbs. lovely.

Dec 3rd about 3 pm to 10 pm: start having really REALLY bad contractions. freak out. go to hospital. get sent home again. not strong enough yet? seriously?

Dec 3rd about 10 pm to 5 am: get home from hospital. crying. pain. not fun. take the sleeping pill they gave me. it does nothing. tome gets home from work and sleeps peacefully for about 2 hours while i'm writhing in pain. after not being able to take it any more we got to the hospital again. i was convinced they were going to send me home again, but I was 5 cm dilated and all the way thinned out. yay.

Dec 4th: get epidural at 7 am. best thing ever. sleep and watch tv. start pushing at 4:30 and Owen William arrived at 5:09 weighing in at 9 lbs 7 oz 22 inches long.

The whole labor and delivery thing was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be...thanks to the epidural.

Being a mom is the best thing ever and I can't believe how much he has already changed!

Pregnant!!

In the first week of April Tome and I found out that we're pregnant! It was kinda an ooops... but we are so excited! We're due December 15 and I'm about 14 weeks. I am soo excited to be making my way out of the first trimester...it has not been very much fun. But I'm starting to get more energy and food and I are starting to become friends again.

Here's one of the pictures from my first ultrasound when I was about 7 weeks. It's just a little blob, but a very cute little blob. So much fun!

Despite being tired ALL the time and making hourly trips to the bathroom...and not to mention the crazy hormones...I am loving being pregnant!
